My Omnipod Site Change Vlog

Here it is! I did my Omnipod site change and vlogged it. Sorry it's so long! It was actually longer, but I had to cut it down for Youtube (hence all of the choppiness).

That was really interesting - since I've only been on a Minimed. So there is no needle that has to come out after the canulla gets inserted?

Also, I LOLed at the end when the cat behind you jumped up on top of the refrigerator!! So cute!

Nope, no needle to have to take out and throw away. It's all a self-containted system.

As for the cat, that's his favorite place to go when I'm in the kitchen. :-)

Thanks for the video. I didn't know about the Q-tip trick. And we often have a few drops of insulin in there making it hard to see. I'm going to start doing that.

I was having issues w/ bubbles in the syringe (because it's a HUGE syringe!) and the nurse showed me how to more easily knock the bubble to the top.

Take a pen and whack the side of the syringe. It will send the bubble up to the top. You may have to do it one or two times. Also, draw a little more insulin than you need and as you push it back in, the bubble will likely go with it.

Today is pod change day!

Good Job!
