Another One of Those Nights.
Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:06AM 8pm: Dexter says 184 with double arrows up. Darn Pizza! I thought I had bolusing for you down pat, but apparently not! I need to wait to see if extended bolus will help.
10pm: 345 on Dexter. Time for a correction bolus. 4U? Okay..confirm… No, wait! Darn. I should have reduced that to 3. I’ll probably be low later, but we’ll see.
11:30pm: BZZZZZ! Dexter is buzzing me with a drop warning. Great!, but I’m still in the 280’s.
12:30am: BZZZZZ!! “Okay, Dexter, I know it’s dropping. But you’re saying I’m still in the 220s! I must not be dropping THAT fast!
3:30am: BEEEEEEP! “What NOW Dexter?… Oh, I’m 68. Thanks.” –starts to chew glucose tabs.
6:30am: BEEEEEEP! “Can’t I sleep pleeeease? What is it now? 70 again? No? CRAP! 52! I must have slept through the 70 alarm. Well, I will get some sleep, even if it’s only for one more hour.” Chugs 1/2 cup of orange juice.
8:00am: Wakeup time! BZZZZZ! Dexter alerts me that I am now above 180! GrEAt! 186, to be exact.
Dear Dexter,
Last night, you were my friend. Even though I didn’t like you constantly waking me up, you let me know what was going on inside me. I appreciate your diligence and hard work. I will try my best to not make you have to work so hard tonight, and I will try not to take my frustrations out on you like I did this morning. Sorry for yelling.
Thanks,
Sarah

Love it, Sarah! I am on the first full day of my Dexcom test-run, and so far I am loving it. Have several days to go, but if all keeps up and it does the catching as yours does, I think this may be the one I go with! We'll see. MWH
We both had rough nights huh? Yikes. I am glad it is doing it's job though.
